Il y a 30 ans, Dubaï n'était encore qu'un désert. Aujourd'hui, c'est une mégalopole de trois millions d'habitants aux constructions hors du commun. Une ville où l'on bâtit toujours plus grand, toujours plus haut, à la recherche de records. Située en plein cœur du Golfe Persique, cette ville de la démesure a attiré l'an dernier 14 millions de visiteurs. Isabelle, Éric et leurs deux enfants vont y passer une semaine de vacances de rêve, loin du froid et de la grisaille parisienne.

Le soleil toute l'année ainsi que les salaires élevés attirent de nombreux expatriés français. Ils sont 25 000 à s'y être installés. Comme Vincent Reffet, qui s'apprête à y réaliser un exploit. Le triple champion du monde de parachutisme va survoler la forêt de gratte-ciel à plus de 300 km/h, équipé d'une aile composée de quatre mini-réacteurs.

Taha Boudhib, lui, vit au plus près des riches familles locales. Ce Franco-Tunisien est le pâtissier préféré des émiriens. À la tête d'une trentaine de personnes, il travaille dans un complexe appartenant à la famille royale.

Emmanuelle et Alexandra s'intéressent à la garde-robe des femmes les plus riches de Dubaï. Elles ont créé un vide-dressing de luxe qui cartonne. Ce qui a commencé comme un petit évènement entre amies est devenu une start-up florissante.

Ville de tous les excès, Dubaï est aussi devenue en quelques années la capitale de la fête au Moyen-Orient. À seulement 27 ans, Clément dirige l'une des boîtes de nuit les plus courues de la ville : le Billionaire - où une clientèle ultra-fortunée, princes arabes et riches expatriés, vient chaque week-end dépenser des fortunes.

Et la folie des grandeurs n'est pas prête de s'arrêter. La nouvelle génération d'Émiriens a grandi dans un monde de luxe où leur pouvoir d'achat n'a pas de limite : voitures de luxe, zoo privés avec animaux sauvages, complexes immobiliers hors normes...

Immersion avec les Français qui vivent dans cet univers de luxe hors norme.
