Quand on parle de la Préhistoire, on a toujours cette image de l’homme à la chasse et de la femme s’occupant des enfants au chaud dans une grotte. Et si vous êtes un peu intéressés par cette période, vous savez déjà que c’est un gros cliché. Et quand on s’intéresse à ce sujet, une question revient tout le temps dans le débat : chez les chasseurs cueilleurs du Paléolithique, qui chasse et qui cueille ? Bref, y avait-il une division genrée des tâches ? Une nouvelle étude publiée en juin 2023 a tenté de répondre une bonne fois pour toutes à cette question. Et pour eux la réponse est sans appel : oui c’est presque sûr, les femmes chassaient. Revenons ensemble sur ce débat qui passionne autant qu’il ne divise, et regardons les résultats de cette méta-analyse !
