Des centaines d’espèces de la faune française sont menacées de disparition. C’est le constat dressé par l’édition 2018 des « chiffres-clés de la biodiversité » que viennent de publier le Commissariat général au développement durable, l’Agence française pour la biodiversité et l’Observatoire national de la biodiversité.

A l’échelle mondiale, 27,7 % des espèces sont menacées. La France est le pays qui héberge le plus de ces animaux menacés de disparition : elle accueille 5 % du total des espèces menacées dans le monde.

Alors, d'où vient la menace ? Le rapport pointe principalement les « pressions exercées par les activités humaines ». En tête, l’artificialisation des sols, c’est-à-dire toutes les surfaces qui supportent l’activité humaine.
