Layne Beachley is widely regarded as the most successful female surfer in history. The only surfer, male or female, to claim six consecutive world titles (1998-2003), Layne then went onto win a 7th world title in 2006 before retiring from the ASP World Tour in 2008. Not only is Layne a world champion surfer she is an inspirational speaker and a champion for the education of girls.

Le pays le plus pauvre du monde, le pays le plus dangereux du monde, celui qu’on connait à travers "Blood Diamond". C’est souvent comme ça qu’on entend parler de ce pays. On avait envie d'aller voir à quoi ressemble réellement le quotidien des gens qui y vivent.

En Sierra Leone, nous avons rencontré une hospitalité et une gentillesse impressionnantes. Malgré les enjeux sociaux et les crises que traverse le pays, la Sierra Leone ne peut être réduite qu'à ça. C'est un pays à l'histoire millénaire, possédant une culture d'une richesse incroyable et des paysages à couper le souffle.

C’est jamais évident de découvrir un pays pour la première fois à travers des actions humanitaires, mais les équipes d'Action Contre la Faim en Sierra Leone accomplissent un travail formidable et nous ont introduit à la vie quotidienne des sierra-léonais, avec ses hauts et ses bas.

En seulement une semaine, nous avons exploré qu'une infime partie du territoire, mais cette expérience nous a offert une introduction à la culture sierra-léonaise et ses habitants, qu’on espère avoir pu vous partager dans ce film.
