Ce samedi 18 avril 2026 à 10h (UTC+2), en conclusion de ses trois jours au Cameroun, le pape Léon XIV préside une messe à l'ancien aéroport de Yaoundé-Ville (Base Aérienne 101). Je traverse l'île de Malte en marchant sur le Victoria Lines Trail, un ensemble de fortifications construit à la fin du XIXème siècle par l'armée britannique pour faire une barrière physique à un débarquement au nord de Malte et ainsi protéger les installations portuaires.
L'itinéraire que j'ai suivi fait 16 km, 330 m D+ et 270 m D-

Le balisage est très anecdotique (quelques panneaux au début) mais le chemin est assez évident et facile à suivre, malgré des passages en bord de route.
J'ai fait cette randonnée mi-février : la végétation est verdoyante et les températures très agréables pour randonner, je pense qu'il faut éviter l'été (végétation "brûlée" par le soleil, aucune ombre sur le parcours, pas de points d'eau...)
