⁣À Yaoundé, dans le quartier animé de Mokolo, Adèle, 50 ans, tient une petite librairie où les mots sont son refuge. Veuve depuis dix ans, elle a appris à vivre avec ses souvenirs. Issa, 25 ans, mototaximan et étudiant en agronomie, devient un habitué de la librairie. Chaque matin, il s'arrête pour un café et un journal, créant une routine silencieuse mais complice avec Adèle.


Malgré leur différence d'âge, une connexion profonde naît entre eux. Adèle voit en Issa la jeunesse et l'espoir, tandis qu'Issa trouve en Adèle une sagesse et une tendresse maternelles. Leur relation évolue, oscillant entre amitié et un amour interdit que la société ne comprend pas.


Lorsque Issa part pour Garoua poursuivre ses études, Adèle reste seule avec ses livres et ses rêves. Mais un jour, la nouvelle d'un accident bouleverse tout. Issa ne reviendra pas. Adèle plante alors un noyau de mangue, symbole de l'amour qui continue de grandir, même dans l'absence.
